Academy, Tennisport, and Saw Mill Club. He is a certified Tennis Professional and a member of the USTA. Who was ranked in the top 10 Mens open in 2006, #1 player in the
Bronx for 12 months straight in 2007, and was in the top 10 again in 2007.
A native of the Bronx,
New York, Coach V began playing tennis at age 14 using the sport to overcome a rough childhood. He began playing with the City Parks Foundation's free youth tennis camps. Coach V continued playing tennis in junior high and high school. Coach V and his team took the
Bronx Championships two year in a row in Junior High and four years in a row in High school. During that time he joined the New York Junior Tennis league gaining a spot as an alternate on their Summer and Winter tournament teams. He was also able to make The Harlem Junior Tennis Programs Tournament Team and there he received training from Tom Blake ( James Blake's Father), current Director Dante Brown (Former Coach of James & Thomas Blake), Karin Buchholz (USTA's Olympics committee,Former WTA Tour player & now currently with the NY Knicks), Jose Rodriguez Tennis Service Representative in Easter section - Metro USTA and Gustavo Alcayaga Head Tennis Pro for the NYJTL & USTA Junior Competion Committee Member.
From then he joined the Airforce and played on their tennis team. Unfortunately injury cut his professional tennis career short, but this proved to be a blessing in disguise. He was forced to re-evaluate his game and be open to different techniques and new ways of learning
